George Barbier
The illustrated elegance of a Paris between two centuries
George Barbier (1882-1932) was among the artists who best captured the transition from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, transforming fashion illustration into an elegant and recognizable language. Born in Nantes and trained in Paris, he made his debut with a solo exhibition in 1911 and soon became one of the leading illustrators of his time, creating plates for the Gazette du Bon Ton and L'Illustration. He was one of the founders of the Chevaliers du Bracelet and, in the 1920s, collaborated with Erté for the Folies Bergère, as well as designing theatrical costumes, jewelry, and wallpaper. In works such as At the Lido and Cleopatra, his stylized and sensual line is unmistakable, capable of capturing on paper the worldly spirit of Paris between the two wars. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that vision, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to last
Each Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a finish that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A work of art, not just decoration
A print does more than fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who look at it. The works by George Barbier preserved by Miriaci remain true to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning before their aesthetic appeal.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
