Art Brut

Art Brut: creativity beyond every academic convention

Art Brut originated in the 1940s from the insight of Jean Dubuffet, who found in the work of artists without formal artistic training - often psychiatric patients, isolated individuals, and self-taught artists - a creativity free from every academic convention. This perspective was made possible by the pioneering work of psychiatrist Hans Prinzhorn, who, between Heidelberg and German asylums, collected more than five thousand works by around four hundred and fifty artists and published them in 1922 in Bildnerei der Geisteskranken. Works such as 'Apparition in the Air', Hallucination (Pencil) convey that expressive urgency particularly well: images created not for the art market, but out of an inner necessity. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that exploration, not filling an empty space.

Crafted to last

Each Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a solid foundation as strong as the story it tells.

Why choose Miriaci

Choosing Miriaci means relying on work carried out with care, from printing to delivery.

  • Careful shipping: each piece travels protected, ready to hang.
  • Archival materials: 300 g/m² fine art paper and frames chosen to last over time.
  • Real support: our team remains available to help you choose the work best suited to your space.

A work of art, not just a decoration

A print does more than simply fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who look at it. The works in this collection, preserved by Miriaci, remain faithful to this principle - pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetic appeal.

Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
