Naturalism
Naturalism: painting observed life
Naturalism developed in the second half of the nineteenth century as a search for a faithful representation of reality, attentive to natural light and the direct observation of life, in dialogue with the experiences of French Impressionism. Among its most significant interpreters was the Finnish artist Albert Edelfelt, who trained in Helsinki, Antwerp, and Paris under Jean-Léon Gérôme and was one of the first to introduce plein-air painting to Finland. Also admired as a caricaturist and satirical illustrator, as shown by his Caricatures, he gained international fame with his celebrated 1885 portrait of Louis Pasteur, which earned him the French Legion of Honour at just thirty-five. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that artistic pursuit, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to last
Every Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a finish that remains faithful to the original colours over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A work of art, not just a decoration
A print does not merely fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who look at it. The Naturalist works preserved by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning before their aesthetic appeal.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
