Imao Keinen
Imao Keinen and the Poetry of Kachō-ga
Imao Keinen (1845-1924), a Japanese painter active in Kyoto, was one of the leading figures of nihonga painting during the Meiji and Taishō periods. Specializing in the kachō-ga genre, dedicated to flowers and birds, he achieved widespread recognition with the woodblock-printed album Keinen Kachō Gafu, from which the work Keinen's Album of Flowers and Birds, Plate 47 comes. A professor at the Kyoto School of Painting and a court painter from 1904, he is now appreciated for the naturalistic observation and color rendering of his compositions, preserved in museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rijksmuseum. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that artistic vision, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to Last
Every Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A Work of Art, Not Just Decoration
A print does not merely fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who view it. The works by Imao Keinen preserved by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetic appeal.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
