Tsurusawa Tansaku: the Kanō tradition and the horse as a subject
Tsurusawa Tansaku was a Japanese painter active in the 18th century, belonging to the Tsurusawa school, a branch of Kanō painting rooted in Kyoto and associated with the imperial court. Attentive to the compositional conventions and brushwork handed down by the Kanō tradition, he created albums and illustrated books in ink on paper, including a collection devoted to the horse - a subject cherished in Japanese painting for its decorative and symbolic value - which includes Illustrated Book of Horses, Plate 4 and Plate 2. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that artistic vision, not filling an empty space.
Made to last
Every Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We don't chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A work of art, not just decoration
A print does more than fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, a story that continues to speak to those who look at it. The works of Tsurusawa Tansaku preserved by Miriaci remain true to this principle - pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetic appeal.
L'Aesthetic fades. Meaning remains.
