Walter Ophey
Walter Ophey: color and simplification in Rhenish Expressionism
Walter Ophey (1882-1930) was one of the most original voices of Rhenish Expressionism. He trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf and, in his sensitivity to color, was close to the work of Fauvism and Der Blaue Reiter. A member of the Sonderbund from 1912 and one of the founders of the Junges Rheinland group in 1919, he developed a style built on intense colors and simplified compositions, applied both to Rhenish landscapes and to the Mediterranean subjects he discovered during his travels in Italy, as Etna illustrates. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that artistic research, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to last
Every Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A work of art, not just decoration
A print does more than fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who view it. The works by Walter Ophey held by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetics.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
