Winold Reiss
Winold Reiss, between Art Deco and documentary portraiture
Winold Reiss (1886-1953) was a German-born, naturalized American painter and designer, and one of the leading figures of American Art Deco. Trained in Munich during the Viennese Secession era, he began working in the United States in 1913, where he became known for his portraits of Native Americans from the Blackfeet Nation and for his contribution to the Harlem Renaissance through his illustrations for The New Negro. His work combined Art Deco geometry with a strong documentary interest in faces and cultures, as also shown by the Sketches for Inlaid Table Tops, interior design projects for public buildings. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that research, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to last
Each Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.
Why choose Miriaci

A work of art, not just decoration
A print does not simply fill a wall: it brings with it a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who view it. The works by Winold Reiss preserved by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetic appeal.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
