Yamada Naosaburō

Yamada Naosaburō and the Repertoires of Japanese Design

Yamada Naosaburō was a Japanese publisher and curator active between the end of the Meiji period and the beginning of the Taishō period, associated with the Unsōdo publishing house in Kyoto. He curated the magazine Bijutsukai (Sea of Art), a collection of decorative designs for artisans and designers, as shown by the plate Bijutsukai (Sea of Art), Plate 4, and was among the curators of Unai no Tomo (Childhood Friends), an illustrated collection devoted to traditional Japanese toys, which includes the plates from the Seiei series. His editorial work contributed to preserving Japanese ornamental repertoires at a time when the country was undergoing rapid modernization. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that research, not filling an empty space.

Crafted to last

Every Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not pursue an immediate visual effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

Why choose Miriaci

Choosing Miriaci means relying on work carried out with care, from printing to delivery.

  • Careful shipping: each piece travels protected and ready to hang.
  • Archival materials: 300 g/m² fine art paper and frames selected to last over time.
  • Real support: our team remains available to help you choose the work best suited to your space.

A work of art, not just decoration

A print does more than simply fill a wall: it carries a subject, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who view it. The works by Yamada Naosaburō preserved by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle — pieces chosen for their meaning, even before their aesthetic appeal.

Aesthetics fade. Meaning remains.
