Johann Baptist Sonderland
Johann Baptist Sonderland, the 19th-century German chronicler in images
Johann Baptist Sonderland (1805-1878) was a German painter, engraver, and illustrator who trained at the Düsseldorf Academy. His study trips to France and the Netherlands inspired genre scenes marked by good-natured inventiveness and gentle humor, as shown by the plate Orbis Pictus, Plate 8. He illustrated literary works of his time, including Robert Reinick's Malerlieder and Carl Leberecht Immermann's Münchhausen, devoting himself in his later years almost entirely to book illustration through watercolors, lithographs, and decorative drawings. Bringing one of these prints into your home means preserving that artistic research, not filling an empty space.
Crafted to last
Each Framed Art Print is made with fine art paper, then finished and framed by hand in Italy. We do not chase an immediate effect: we seek a result that remains faithful to the original colors over time, because a work intended to be passed down deserves a foundation as solid as the story it tells.

A work of art, not just a decoration
A print does not merely fill a wall: it carries a theme, an era, and a story that continues to speak to those who view it. The works by Johann Baptist Sonderland preserved by Miriaci remain faithful to this principle - pieces chosen for their meaning before their aesthetics.
Aesthetics fade. Meaning endures.
